Hadleigh celebrate one of their goals at Framlingham

Wroxham were the only one of the top 6 in the Premier Division to play a league game on Saturday and their 5-0 success over FC Clacton takes them into third place. Kirkley & Pakefield’s 1-0 home win over Whitton United keeps them in the chasing pack.

A hat-trick from Tom Driscoll helped Hadleigh United move away from the relegation places with a 7-2 success at struggling Framlingham Town. It was only 0-1 at half-time and now Fram, who have conceded 15 goals in their last two games, head to Histon on Tuesday evening. Histon, themselves, saw their great run in the FA Vase come to an end, losing 3-1 at home to Northwich Victoria after extra time.

The top 4 in the First Division South all had comfortable wins – Hashtag United 4-0 at Wivenhoe Town, Halstead Town 3-1 at Little Oakley, White Ensign 5-2 at home to Brightlingsea Regent Reserves, after going 2-0 down after 10 minutes, and Harwich & Parkeston 7-1 at bottom team Fire United.

A Stephen Drake hat trick helped Norwich CBS to an impressive 4-1 victory at First Division North leaders Harleston Town. The division is beginning to boil up nicely as we approach the business end of the season. Meanwhile bottom side Needham Market Reserves scored a late winner to beat Diss Town 2-1 for their first victory since October.

In the Reserve League leaders Stowmarket Town secured their 12th successive league victory by winning 2-0 at Walsham le Willows. It was Walsham’s first defeat in any competition so far this season.
