It is with great sadness that the League reports the sad passing last week of Maurice Scrivener.

Maurice, a former Chairman of the Suffolk and Ipswich Football League, was involved in local football for 60 years as a player, referee and administrator. He was a long-standing officer of the Eastern Counties League, serving as both the Registrations and Records Officer and the Referee’s Appointments Officer for the Youth League at the time of his passing.

The contribution that Maurice made to the smooth running of the League’s registrations, the assistance that he gave clubs and the opportunities he gave match officials on the Youth League should not be underestimated. He will be much missed.

Our condolences and thoughts are with Maurice’s wife, Amanda, his children, Lee and Georgina and the rest of Maurice’s immediate and extended family.
