It was business as usual on Saturday afternoon as Premier Division leaders Stowmarket Town left Whitton United with a 4-0 win. Wroxham are back to second after an 89th minute penalty from Simon Lappin gave them a 1-0 victory at Mildenhall Town. Stanway Rovers continue to impress and are third after beating Woodbridge Town 3-1.

In the battle between two in-form teams Long Melford suffered their first league defeat in 9 games and fell to 4th in the table after losing at home 3-1 to Thetford Town. The Brecklanders have won 6 of their last 7 games. Norwich United are up to 5th following a 4-1 victory over bottom side Hadleigh United. Newmarket Town are now in the top six with games in hand after coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Haverhill Rovers.

With Mulbarton Wanderers’ match postponed Downham Town took the opportunity to move back to the top of First Division North by beating Haverhill Borough 2-0. New signing Robbie Priddle scored a goal in each half. Third placed Norwich CBS fell 1-0 at Ipswich Wanderers, fourth placed Lakenheath’s match was called off and March Town United are up to fifth after a comprehensive 5-0 success over AFC Sudbury Reserves.

A special mention to Wisbech St Mary who had their first win of the season – beating Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves 3-0.

Little Oakley missed the opportunity to go top of First Division South after being held 1-1 at home by lowly Hackney Wick. Leaders Lopes Tavares’ game fell to the weather, while Holland moved into the promotion positions after a 90th minute Harvey Cowler goal gave them a single goal victory over third placed Wivenhoe Town.

Frenford are the form team of the division but left it very late to score their two goals in the 2-1 win at Burnham Ramblers. Harwich & Parkeston lost their unbeaten home record in some style. Despite going ahead they lost 7-1 to White Ensign at the Royal Oak.
