Congratulations to Frenford, Mildenhall Town, Kirkley & Pakefield, Norwich United, FC Clacton, Woodbridge Town and Wroxham – they all beat teams from other leagues in this afternoon’s FA Vase ties.

Special mention also to Coggeshall United from First Division South who beat Premier Division Brantham Athletic 1-0, while First Division South leaders Lopes Tavares were beaten 3-2 at home by Premier Division Stanway Rovers.

These nine teams, plus previously exempt Stowmarket Town and Godmanchester Rovers, will be in Monday’s Second Round Proper draw. They will be joined by White Ensign if they can beat Buckingham Athletic in Sunday’s tie.

With most other teams involved in the FA Vase Stowmarket Town took the opportunity to go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier Division by winning 3-1 at Godmanchester Rovers. Newmarket Town are up to 6th with games in hand after beating Haverhill Rovers 2-1 in front of a crowd of 248.

Lakenheath are now third in First Division North after demolishing Needham Market Reserves 6-1 but in the next fortnight they face league matches at leaders Downham Town and 4th placed Diss Town and at home to second placed Mulbarton Wanderers (6-0 victors over Leiston Reserves), as well as playing Premier Division neighbours Mildenhall Town in the League Challenge Cup!

Little Oakley are back up to second in First Division South after beating Burnham Ramblers 4-1, while Barkingside fell to their first league defeat of the season, losing 3-2 at Benfleet with the home side scoring twice in the last 4 minutes.
