It is with great sadness that we record the passing of League Vice-President Peter Barnes after a long battle with cancer.

Peter was a Vice President of the FA and had a long and distinguished career in football, including being Secretary of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Leyton Orient. He was seen frequently at Eastern Counties League games and a regular attender at League Management Committee meetings where his calm and measured comments were much valued.

His knowledge, friendliness, modesty, down-to-earth approach and good humour will be greatly missed.
