Intriguing FA Vase Third Round Draw

The FA Vase Third Round Proper draw has thrown up some interesting ties for the remaining Thurlow Nunn League sides.

First Division North leaders Fakenham Town, who beat Hashtag United via a penalty shoot out on Saturday, are to entertain Spartan South Midlands League side Milton Keynes Irish, who themselves won a Saturday penalty shoot out at Premier Division leaders Wroxham.

Norwich United must travel to United Counties league Wellingborough Town, who eliminated Woodbridge Town 1-0 in the second round. Gorelston, who, like Norwich United, received a walk over into the third round, have been drawn away to Spartan South Midlands Leighton Town. Leighton were another side to receive a walkover, following the withdrawal of Mildenhall Town.

There is to be an all-Thurlow Nunn League tie at Greens Meadow with Stowmarket Town, who overcame United Counties League leaders Eynesbury Rovers 5-0 on Saturday, at home to the winners of next Saturday’s delayed Norwich CBS v. May & Baker tie.

The other Thurlow Nunn League side still involved are Mulbarton Wanderers, who, if they overcome Cogenhoe United this coming Saturday, will be entertaining Ampthill Town., the Spartan South Midlands League side that knocked out Stanway Rovers in the second round.

Matches are scheduled for Saturday 19th December, kick off 3pm
