In the match of the day in the Premier Division Wroxham moved up to second after scoring twice in the second half to win 2-0 at Stanway Rovers. Wroxham have now won their last 6 league games without conceding a goal.

Meanwhile, Stowmarket Town carried on their relentless journey at the top of the table by beating struggling Ely City 7-1. Josh Mayhew struck a first half trick to help go in at the break 5-0 up.

Newmarket Town had their game at Godmanchester postponed because of a waterlogged pitch but Norwich United continued their good form with a 4-0 success at Woodbridge Town. All the goals came in the first half in what was the Planters sixth win on the trot.

Mildenhall Town have been improving of late and are now up to 6th after beating Gorleston 2-1 while Whitton United remain unbeaten in 6 following their 2-0 home win against Kirkley & Pakefield. Whitton entertain Newmarket on Tuesday evening.

White Ensign swept to the top of First Division South and the highest position in their history with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Wormley Rovers, who are now without a win in six. The South Essex side took over from Little Oakley who suffered their first home defeat of the season when beaten 2-1 by Holland in a Tendring derby. Holland, who are now 5th, came from behind with 2 goals in the last 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, Coggeshall United missed the opportunity to go third in the table after Harwich & Parkeston came from 2-0 behind at the Royal Oak to secure a 2-2 draw.

It remains tight in First Division North with leaders Mulbarton Wanderers held to a 1-1 draw at lowly King’s Lynn Reserves while Downham Town and Lakenheath both had comfortable away wins. Ipswich Wanderers have had some impressive results of late and won 5-0 at Lesiton Reserves on Saturday. They are up to sixth in the table and next week travel to Downham Town.
