Stowmarket Town pressure against Swaffham Town

Despite a lot of late pressure Premier Division leaders Stowmarket Town dropped their first home point of the season this afternoon as Swaffham Town held their hosts to a 1-1 draw. Josh Mayhew put the Suffolk side into an interval lead with a simple header only for a persistent Joe Jackson to equalise in the second half.

Woodbridge Town are back up to second after a 5-2 home win over Haverhill Rovers with Carlos Edwards scoring twice from the penalty spot. Norwich United drop to third after losing 3-2 at home to Long Melford, despite drawing level after going 2-0 down. Wroxham are now 4th are being held to a goalless draw at Trafford Park by Newmarket Town. Fifth placed Stanway Rovers had beaten Hadleigh United 4-0 on Friday evening.

With First Division North leaders Downham Town having been victorious on Friday evening second placed Mulbarton Wanderers continued their good form with a 3-1 home win over Ipswich Wanderers. Third placed Lakenheath had their second impressive 3-0 away win in 4 days. On Tuesday they won at Downham and today it was at 4th placed Diss Town. Next Saturday it’s Lakenheath v. Mulbarton!

In the tospy turvy First Division South Lopes Tavares dropped their first points of the season with Mason Shave scoring the only goal of the game in the first half for visitors Benfleet. Wivenhoe Town moved into the promotion places after beating bottom side Fire United 6-0.
